Margaret Bayhan, age 96, of Newark, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and Little Sisters on Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Jeanne Jugan Residence. Forty-one years after his death, she will join her husband, Harry J. Bayhan, in eternal life.
Margaret was born in Detroit, MI, one of three children of the late Daisy (Peggie) and Bernard McGee. Graduating from Southeastern High School in Detroit, she held various receptionist jobs and worked in various capacities at J.C. Penney stores in Detroit and, later, Clearwater, FL. She retired with more than 20 years of service at Penney's and took great delight in the fact that she actually met the store's founder, James Cash Penney.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband, Harry; their son, Danny; and her siblings Jeanne Lazarus and Bernard F. McGee.
She is survived by her son, Richard; grandchildren Danny, Christopher, and Eric; and a number of nieces, nephews, and great-grandchildren. Her immediate and extended family loved Margaret for her kind heart and great sense of humor. She will be sorely missed.
Her funeral Mass will be private. Burial will be at All Saints Cemetery in Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE, 19713, are encouraged.
