Charles F. Mealey, Jr.

Charles F. Mealey, Jr. has been the president of Mealey Funeral Homes and Crematory since 1995 when his father retired. Chick has worked at the funeral home since he was old enough to cut grass. Like his father and grandfather before him, he graduated from Salesianum School in 1977. He went on to graduate from the University of Delaware in 1981, and graduated cum laude from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 1983. Chick holds a Funeral Director’s License in Delaware, Maryland, and Pennsylvania and is a Certified Crematory Operator. Chick has been on the Salesianum Alumni Board since 1988 and continues to dedicate much of his time to alumni events, fundraising, and the Annual Sports Banquet. Along with his charity work for Salesianum, Chick has volunteered for Catholic Youth Sports for many years, helping to plan their Annual CYO Golf Tournament. Continuing the tradition set by his father and grandfather, Chick continues to do charity work for the Little Sisters of the Poor, founding and managing their Annual Golf Tournament for over 10 years. Although he grew up in St. Ann’s Parish, he has been a parishioner at St. John the Beloved Church since the 1990s, where he is a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council. Chick resides in Pike Creek area with his wife, Lucy, and three children.

Rachel Mealey

Rachel Mealey joined the Mealey Funeral Home staff in 2016. Although she joined the staff in 2016, Rachel often jokes that she feels as though she has been a member of the Mealey Funeral Homes team her entire life. Rachel graduated from Padua Academy in 2012, magna cum laude from St. Joseph’s University in 2016, and cum laude from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science in 2019. Rachel is also a Certified Crematory Operator. Like her parents, Rachel is a member of St. John the Beloved Church and among other volunteer work in the parish, is a member of their Finance Committee. Most recently, alongside her mother and bereavement counselor, Rachel started a grief support group at her home parish and is looking forward to expanding aftercare resources in the coming years. Rachel is also a member of the newly founded Padua Academy Alumnae Association and volunteers for the Little Sisters of the Poor. Rachel resides in the Pike Creek area, near the rest of her family.

Lisa Winnington Office Manager

Lisa Winnington joined Mealey Funeral Homes in 2020 as the Office Manager who supervises the day-to-day operations of the funeral home. She is often one of the first points of contact for clients calling the funeral home with questions or concerns. With a background in church and cemetery management, Lisa worked at several local cemeteries and churches before joining the Mealey’s team. Aside from work, Lisa enjoys spending her free time with her two children, Carly and Casey.

Zachary Garrett

Zachary Garrett joined the Mealey Funeral Home team in 2017. He recently graduated from Mercer County Community College and began his year of residency at the funeral home. A nephew of Chick's and Rachel’s first cousin, Zach was eager to join his family at the funeral home. Originally from Wilmington, Zach spent the majority of his younger years living in Florida, before recently moving back home to Delaware. In his free time, Zach is a health enthusiast and active member of the Central and Brandywine YMCA communities.

Bruno Casale

Bruno Casale joined the Mealey Funeral Homes team in 2010 as a Funeral Assistant. Bruno is one of the former owners of the Gerardo’s Pizza restaurant in Wilmington, DE. As Chick’s brother-in-law, he joined the funeral home staff to support their families and is a Certified Crematory Operator. You will see him assisting at funeral services, but his primary responsibility is the smooth running of the crematory. In his free time, Bruno loves to spend time with his three children and two new grandchildren. Bruno resides in Landenberg, PA with his wife, Lisa.

Allen Miles

Allen Miles has been working as a Funeral Assistant for the Mealey Funeral Home since 2014. Allen is a graduate of the Conrad High School and went on to work at General Motors in material and assembly for 32 years until his retirement. After realizing that retirement wasn’t really for him, Allen joined the Mealey team as a Funeral Assistant. In his free time, Allen loves to go hunting and fishing, and can often be found working on various projects. Allen resides in Middletown with his wife Sharon, and loves to spend time with his three children and 5 grandchildren.

Patrick Fischer

Patrick Fischer joined the Mealey Funeral Homes staff in 2019 as a Funeral Service Resident and has since earned his full licensure as a Funeral Director in the State of Delaware. A native of Delaware, Patrick is a graduate of the Conrad School of Science, Point Park University and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and is a Certified Crematory Operator. In his free time, he enjoys volunteering at his home parish of St. Hedwig’s, where is a member of their Knights of Columbus Council and a regular volunteer at the Polish Festival. In addition, he is an overly passionate Philadelphia sports team fan. Patrick resides with his family in the Boxwood addition area of Wilmington.

Anne Pedrick, M.S.

Anne Pedrick, M.S., recently joined the Mealey Funeral Homes team in 2019 as the Bereavement Counselor and Community Liaison. She earned her graduate degree in Community Counseling at Wilmington University in 1998. She completed her graduate training under the direction of Mealey Funeral Homes’ previous grief counselor, Dr. Regina Gianonne-Tyler, at the Hospice of the Delaware Valley. In addition to working at Mealey Funeral Homes, Anne has been the Executive Director for the Child Death Review Commission since 2006. This includes offering grief support to families who have lost a child and developing strategies to prevent future child deaths. Since 2012, she has taught several courses at Wilmington University. Anne can often be found serving bereavement luncheons at her church or serving on the church leadership team. She has a heart for the hurting and a passion for mission trips. Anne is a mother and stepmother to two adult sons and resides in Newark with her husband, Allen.

Mary Lally "Tunie"

Mary “Tunie” Lally, a third generation Mealey, and her husband, Edward “Eddie” Lally have been a part of the Mealey team since the 1960s. Tunie Lally retired from Homsey Architects after 28 years as a receptionist and secretary before coming to work at Mealey Funeral Homes as one of our part-time receptionists at the Limestone Road facility. Her husband, Eddie, recently retired from the funeral home after working for Mealey’s since the 1960s, assisting with all aspects of the business. They are parishioners of St. Thomas the Apostle Church and are longtime residents of Union Park Gardens. They have three children and four beloved grandchildren.
