William J. Warren, III"Bill"Age 65, of Bear, DE, passed away at his residence on Sunday, March 29, 2015. Born in Wilmington, DE, Bill was the son of the late Doris G. (Turner) and William J. Warren, Jr. He was a 1967 graduate of Conrad High School and entered the Delaware National Guard from 1968 to 1974. He was a proud and dedicated retired State Police Officer, serving with the Delaware State Police for 15 years from 1970 to 1985. Retired at the rank of Corporal. In 1987, he worked as the Director of Security at the Christiana Hilton until his retirement in 1993. Bill's hobbies included fishing, hunting and football. He was also considered the "family meteorologist" and was the first to contact his family with impending weather conditions. He was also famous for his wonderful story telling. Bill always put his family first, was generous, and would always offer assistance when unexpected problems arose. Bill will be dearly missed by his daughters, Jenny Warren and Cynthia Warren; his former wife, Mary Jo Warren; his sisters, Judy Warren and Sharon Hoeflinger and her husband David; h is niece and nephews Mandy, Zach, Tyler, and Brandon, along with many other nieces and nephews. His son, William J. Warren IV, predeceased him last July. Funeral services will be private.
