William R. Barto, age 83, of Hockessin, DE passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on April 23rd. Born in Endicott, NY, he was the son of the late Trilby (Brown) and Walter M. Barto. William graduated from Drexel University and was a self-employed financial planner for over 25 years. In addition to financial planning, he also worked as a real estate agent in New Jersey. William was a member of the Sycamore Hill Baptist Church in Hockessin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Robert Barto.William is survived by his wife, Patricia Barto; his son, William P. Barto and wife, SaraJane of Carlisle, PA; his daughter, Karen L. Kohler and husband, Kevin of Elkton, MD; his grandchildren, Audrey Barto, Emily Marcum, Annalee and Colin Kohler; and his brother, Thomas Barto and his wife, Charlotte of Brooklyn, MI.Burial will be at Bel Air Memorial Gardens, 809 Rock Spring Rd., Bel Air, MD 21014 at 11 A.M. on Saturday, May 4. Friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Urban Promise, 2401 Thatcher St., Wilmington, DE 19802.
