Vincetta Jean (Grimaldi) Citro (Vinnie), age 85, of Wilmington DE, passed away with grace and quiet strength, on November 12, 2025, and will be dearly missed by her loving family.  Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Clara (DeNest) and Joseph Grimaldi.  Vinnie attended St. Elizabeth High School where she met her husband, Albert and married in 1959.  They were married for over 47 years at the time of his death.

Vinnie worked for over 20 years at the Hotel Dupont and the Vicmead Hunt Club. She was a dedicated caregiver for several family members for many years. Vinnie enjoyed caring for her family, trips to Rehoboth Beach, and participating in the annual Festival of Trees for Delaware Hospice. She was also a wonderful cook, especially making Italian dishes for the holidays and sharing her recipes with family and friends to preserve traditions.

In addition to her parents, Vinnie was preceded in death by her husband, Albert A. Citro, Jr. (Sonny), and her brother, David Grimaldi. She is survived by her children, Rose Marie and Patrick A. Burke Sr., Ann Marie and Marty Capasso, and Albert A. and Melinda Citro III; her grandchildren, Patrick A. Burke Jr., Anthony (Susan) Capasso, Christopher (Christine) Burke, Michael (Jessie) Capasso, and Nicholas (Lara) Capasso, Albert Citro IV and Grace (Max) Citro - Malarkey; and great-grandchildren, Max, Michael, Kai, and Cameron Capasso and Theodore A. Burke.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 10:00 am to 11:30 am with funeral services beginning at 11:30 am at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington DE 19808. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington DE 19808. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the Friends of Delaware Veterans Home donate online via vethome.delaware.gov or The American Heart Association donate online via heart.org.
