Tori Nicole Carter, age 44, of New Castle, DE, died peacefully with her family at her side on August 30th, 2022, after an almost 9-month battle with lung cancer and only one day before her birthday.

She was born on August 31st, 1977, in Klamath Falls, OR. The oldest daughter of Richard and Dian Zuck, Tori was a graduate of William Penn High School in New Castle, DE.

Tori was an incredible mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend to all she met. The Philadelphia Eagles fan could easily be found hanging with her cul-de-sac crew, reading her kindle on her porch, or watching a reality show any night of the week. Tori was loved and adored by all who met her, with her vivacious spirit, friendly nature, and her competitive streak that was present with ANY game. Her favorite place in the world was Pine Grove Cottages in Beach Lake, PA, where she knew all the tips and tricks to catch the largest bass and loved to spend the nights playing rummy with her family or laying on the dock with her children, looking at the clear, starry sky. After her diagnosis, she continued to be a positive light for all in her corner and was most proud that she was able to help others in a clinical cancer trial. She finally took Walther Road to heaven.

Tori is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, Dan Carter, and their two beautiful children, Dylan and Madison Carter. Tori is also survived by her sisters: Sarah Zuck and Rachael Zuck with her husband Travis Bowman; along with her mother-in-law, Kathy Carter; brother-in-law, Brian Carter; as well as her nephew, niece, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Richard and Dian Zuck, and her cherished father-in-law, Randy Carter.

The family would also like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and doctors at the Christiana Hospital MICU Department and Season's Hospice, as well as Dr. Lassett and the Christiana Hospital Oncology staff, for their diligent and gentle care of Tori.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 12pm at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. The service will begin at 1:30pm. Interment will be held privately.
