Obituary

Tina George passed away suddenly on the morning of September 11th. Tina was a devoted wife, mother, aunt, cousin and most importantly, a grandmother. Right out of high school, Tina gave birth to her daughter Nicole and all of her choices were around giving Nicole a wonderful education and a full life.She started at the DuPont Company and served in various Administrative capacities for 32 years. She enrolled in the Delaware Army National Guard, where she served for five years. While at the National Guard she met the love of her life and husband of 25 years, Bob. Tina loved travelling with him and spending time with her grandchildren. Tina was a caregiver. She was an avid lover of all animals, but her passion was helping cats find homes. Tina had multiple cats over the years and fostered dozens. She often volunteered at Forgotten Cats where her sidekick and grandson Caden would often attend with her. Tina was a devoted mother, stepping in to help her daughter, Nicole, take care of Caden as an only parent after the death of Caden's father. Tina was also a devoted daughter. She helped care for her mother during her final years. Tina was a loving grandmother to Tristan, Nicholas, Bobby, Mark, Marissa and Caden. She had a special connection with Caden and they were often seen doing everything together. She is survived by her loving husband Bob, daughter Nicole, step-son Bob Jr.(Jeannette), step-daughter Maria(Mark), sister Mary Ann (Dave), brothers, Chris and Anthony, her father Michael and brothers and sister Michael, Jimmy, Dominique and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her mother, Evelyn, sister Francine, and her son-in-law, Eric Quinn.A prayer service will be held on Monday, September 19, 2016 at 11:30 AM at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington where friends may call after 9:30 AM. Burial will be in the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Bear. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Delaware Humane Society, 701 A Street, Wilmington, DE 19801.
