Thomas J. Votta

Thomas J. Votta, age 79, of Newark, Delaware, passed away on Friday July 17, 2026.

Born in Southwest Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on November 21, 1946, to the late Anthony and Louise (Pogano) Votta, Tom was a graduate of John Bartram High School. After high school, Tom proudly served in the United States Army. Drafted during the Vietnam War era, he served as a medic and was stationed in Korea.

On February 9, 1974, he married his beloved wife Donna (Stouch). They shared 52 wonderful years together.

Tom worked at Northwest for over thirty years. He was an avid Phillies fan, loved playing pinochle and bowling, enjoyed dancing, and was a dedicated gym rat since he was young. He cherished time with family and had a gift for chatting with everyone he met.

In addition to his parents, Tom was preceded in death by his sister Arleen Beatty. He is survived by his loving wife Donna (Stouch) Votta; son Thomas A. Votta and wife Bene Joy (Vinci) Votta, and their children Gabriella and Luciano; daughter Krista (Votta) Lestardo and husband Eugene, and their children Lexis, Anthony, Giovanni, and Angelo; daughter Nicole Votta and her children Jade and Jordan; brother Gerald Votta; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M. with funeral services to begin at 11 A.M. at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial to follow at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE.
