Thomas J. Leavey, age 88 of Middletown, DE passed away on November 23rd, 2018. Born in Brooklyn, NY, he was the son of the late Katherine (Lawless) and John Leavey. He served proudly in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. Thomas went on to work as a supervisor at DuPont for 35 years until his retirement. Thomas was a parishioner of St. Matthews Roman Catholic Church.Thomas is survived by his wife of 65 years, Helen B. (Kern) Leavey; his children and their spouses, Patricia and Paul Norvell, Jr. of Middletown, DE, Thomas J., Jr. and Denise Leavey of Middletown, DE, and Donald and Lorraine Leavey of Bend, Oregon; his grandchildren. Paul Norvell III, Don Leavey Jr., Joseph Norvell, Sean Leavey, Jennifer Norman, Tim Leavey, Kara Leavey, Tommy Leavey; and his great grandchildren, Zack Norvell, Wyatt Norvell, Jocelyn Norvell, Ava Norvell, Joey Norvell, David Norman .A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, November 28th at 1 P.M. at St. Matthew's Roman Catholic Church, 901 E. Newport Pike Wilmington, DE 19804, where friends and family may call from 12 P.M. to 1 P.M.
