Obituary

Thelma Louise Douglas, 83 formerly of Elkton and most recently Elsmere passed away unexpectedly on Friday, April 11, 2025.

Thelma was born in Baltimore, MD the daughter of the late Lorraine (Almony) and Brantley Simon. She was a homemaker who enjoyed baking , cake decorating, doll making and crocheting. She also enjoyed the beach, shopping and being with her family. Thelma was predeceased by her brother Brantley Simon, Jr., her sister, June Hill, her husband, Gilbert Lee Douglas in 2011, her son, Vincent Douglas in 2020 and her grandson, Chuckie Sammons, Jr. in 2022.

Thelma is survived by her daughter, Susan Sammons and her husband, Brad Bard; her son and his wife, Perry and Sara Douglas; her daughter-in-law, Kimberly; her grandchildren, Amanda, Katie, Courtney, Vince, Reno, Ryan, Cory, Kelsey, Travis and Trevor; her great-grandchildren, Chase, Reagan, Jaxson, Kaylee, Abby, Adam, Crewe, Jonah and Elly. Her great-great granddaughter, Delanie ; her siblings, Patricia McAllister, Roger Simon (Pat), Minnette Klunk, Esther Ferren, Donna Holmes (Clyde) and Marty Simmons (Robin).

Friends are invited to visit the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road on Tuesday morning from 10 to 11 AM. A funeral service will begin at 11 AM. Burial will be private.
