Terry L. Hinrichs, 65 of New Castle passed away on Friday, July 9, 2021 at the Delaware Hospice Center surrounded by his loved ones. Terry was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Margaret L. (Hopkins) and George C. Hinrichs, Jr. He graduated from William Penn High School in 1973 and worked for over 36 years for ICI, Atlas Point and Croda. After retiring, Terry enjoyed vacationing with family and friends and spending time with his grandsons. He took pride in his handyman skills, helping others with their home projects and sharing his knowledge with the next generation. In addition to his parents, Terry was predeceased by his brothers, George III, William, and Richard; and his granddaughter, Candace Mae. Terry will be missed by his wife of 41 years, Jerilynn (Brooks) Hinrichs; his daughter and son-in-law, Heather and Mike Schorah of Wilmington; his grandsons, Max and Austin; his sister, Pamela Eichholz of Delaware City; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Friday afternoon from 1 to 2:30 PM. A short service will begin at 2:30 PM. Burial will be private. Per Terry's wishes "Please do not send flowers because in a week they'll be dead, just like me."
