Stephen Moore, Jr., age 55, known to his family and friends as Steve, passed away in his hometown of Benson, North Carolina, on February 29, 2024.  Steve was born on February 5, 1969, to Andrea and Stephen Moore, Sr. in Wilmington, Delaware.

An avid fisherman and boatsman, Steve gained his love of the Rehoboth Bay from his father who taught him how to fish and crab at a very young age. Steve loved steaming crabs and grilling everything he could, especially steaks.  He also enjoyed music and attending rock concerts, and he was always eager to help family and friends with home projects.

Steve graduated from Salesianum High School and began his apprenticeship with the IBEW Local 313.  He worked his way up to Master Electrician, taking pride in his work with Sir Raleigh Electric for over 30 years.

Steve is survived by his loving wife Chrissy (Heitter) Moore, Mother Andrea 'Ann' Moore, sister Kim Moore (Scott Humphrey), nephews Andrew Cooper (Josh) and David Walker (Cassie), his beloved dog Nanook, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.  He was predeceased by his father, Stephen Moore, Sr.

A visitation for family and friends will be held at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808, on Saturday March 16th from 2 P.M. to 3:30 P.M. with funeral services beginning at 3:30 P.M. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest donations to Delaware Humane Association or Faithful Friends Animal Society in memory of Steve.
