Stephen M. Forbes passed away on May 27, 2026. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Joan Forbes (Skidmore) and Robert I. Forbes.

Stephen is survived by his brother, Patrick K. Forbes of Shallotte, North Carolina, and his half-brother, Robert Forbes of Phoenix, Arizona.

Stephen attended University of Delaware and Wilmington University, where he pursued his education while developing lifelong interests in athletics and mentorship. A passionate sports enthusiast, Stephen was active in many activities throughout his life, including golf, basketball, cycling, and hockey. He especially enjoyed coaching youth hockey and sharing his love of sports with younger generations.

Known for his patience and generosity, Stephen devoted much of his time to helping others succeed. Over the years, he tutored several of his cousins, an experience that brought him great joy and fulfillment. In his later years, he dedicated himself to helping individuals earn their high school diplomas and prepare for advanced education, leaving a lasting impact on many lives through his encouragement and support.

Stephen will be remembered for his kindness, dedication to education, love of sports, and the genuine care he showed to family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.
