Obituary

Stanley Wong (Wang Sheng Ping), 81 of Wilmington, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, at Christiana Hospital.

Stanley was born in Yunnan, China, son of the late Youn Kwein (Foun) and Tsu May Wung. He earned his undergraduate degree in physics from the University of Rangoon (Burma), and later received two masters degrees (physics and nuclear engineering) and a PhD in nuclear engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute.

He began his career as a consulting engineer at Salem Station before founding and operating Professional Systems Associates (PSA) for over 20 years. He retired in 2002.

A founding member of the Chinese American Community Center, he loved playing tennis, fishing, swimming, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 54 years, Julie (Yang) Wong; his daughter, Brenda Wong; his sons and their wives, Gregory Wong and Melinda Chan, and Kevin and Yasmeen Wong; his grandchildren, Emerson, Aryan, and Zayn Wong; and his siblings, Li Fang, Li Feng, Shen Zhuang, Li Zhu, and Li Ming.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 14th, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Chinese American Community Center.
