Stanley J. Minkiewicz, Jr. Age 77, originally from Philadelphia, PA, passed away on Friday, January 16, 2015 at his home in Bear, DE surrounded by his family. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Stan was the son of the late Stanley John and Mary (Bonner) Minkiewicz. Stan made his living working as a conductor on the railroad. His career spanned 42 years, including time spent on the Pennsylvania Railroad, Penn Central Railroad, Conrail, and eventually retiring from Amtrak. Stan is survived by his wife of nearly 41 years, Michele (Gleason): his daughters, Catherine (Paul Jung) and Michele Ami (Steven Wilson); and two grandchildren, Joseph and Jocelyn Jung. Stan is also survived by his brothers, Anthony and Charles; and his sisters, Mary Ann Garrigan (Brian), Patricia Guthrie and RoseMarie Beltz (Joseph). Visitation with the family will be held on Monday, January 19th from 9:30 am to 11:30 am at Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington.
