Stanford L. House, 93 passed away peacefully on March 19, 2016 at Millcroft Nursing Home.Stanford was born in Hagerstown, MD, son of Kathryn (Hoover) and Howard House and spent time in Waynesboro, PA. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II as a staff sergeant and squad leader of 20 men and 4 shore landing crafts. After his service he married Theresa Eileen Buhrman in 1946 and was a loving husband for 60 years, until her passing in 2006.Stanford was a machinist at Fairchild in Hagerstown, MD. He moved to Wilmington in 1962 and worked as a draftsman/designer at All-American Engineering for 30 years. He enjoyed hunting, stamp and coin collecting, making dollhouse furniture and lighthouses.Stanford is survived by his son, Jerry of Woodbury, MN; his daughter, Carolyn Smith and her husband, Frank of Townsend; his 5 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchilden and 2 great-great grandchildren.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ Our King Church, 2810 N. Monroe Street, Wilmington, DE 19802 on Tuesday morning at 11 AM, Where friends may call after 10 AM. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown, MD.
