Sr. Mary J. Orozco, Capuchin Poor Clare, aged 94 years passed away peacefully at Compassionate Care Hospice at St. Francis Hospital on Friday, December 11, 2015.Sr. Mary was born in Abasolo, Guanajuato, Mexico on May 15, 1921, the daughter of Delfina (Contreros) and Jose Maria Orozco. She came to the United States when she was 12 and entered the Poor Clares in 1949 in Chicago. When that monastery closed, Sr. Mary Immaculate came to Wilmington and joined the Capuchin Poor Clares in 1989.In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers, Juanito and Fr. Rafael Orozco and her sister, Delfina Orozco. She is survived by her brother, Joseph Orozco and her niece, Mary Gentile, both of Chicago, IL.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday evening at 5:30 PM at the Sacred Heart Oratory, 10th and Madison Streets, Wilmington. Friends may call at the Oratory on Monday morning from 9 to 11:15 AM and from 1:15 to 5:15 PM. Burial will be Tuesday in St. Lawrence Cemetery, Beacon, NY.
