Sr. Claire Patricia (aka Kathleen Therese Reilly) was born on Feb.17, 1940 in Boston, MA.  Sr. Claire came from a very large Irish family of 7 girls and 1 boy.

Sr. Claire's oldest sister was a Little Sister, Sister Gertrude who die in 2015 in Enfield, Conn.

The six girls in the family were Peggy, Mary, Doris, Eileen, Sara, Kathleen, Claire and the only boy, Charles. Sara is the only living sister left. Sr. Claire had a great fondness for her two nephews and their children.

After her younger sister Claire Patricia who died age 15 from a house fire, Sister Claire who was 18 asked to take her sister's baptismal name when she went to the novitiate in Queens, NY.

Sr. Claire entered the Little Sisters at 18.  She did her nursing studies and then served in our Homes in Baltimore, Indianapolis, New Orleans, Mobile, and Newark.  She celebrated her Golden Jubilee in Indianapolis 2010.

Sr. Claire loved to read and kept up on all the news in the world and the Church.  She was gifted in many ways and was always kept good order in whatever she did.  Her health had been declining over the last 5 years of her life, but she tried to keep going. We will miss her very much.

A visitation will be held at Little Sisters of the Poor, Jeanne Jugan Residence, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713 from 3 P.M. to 6 P.M. on Friday November 8th. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday November 9th at 10 A.M. at Little Sisters of the Poor, at the address above. Burial will be held at Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Little Sisters of the Poor, at the above address.
