Sheila Mulrooney Kirwin, 87 passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family.

Sheila was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Mary (Connor) and Hubert J. Mulrooney. She was a graduate of St. Elizabeth High School and worked for 41 ½ years as a laboratory technician. Sheila and her late husband, Jim were active volunteers at the Little Sisters of the Poor. She was a member of St. Thomas Church and Assumption BVM Church in West Grove, PA.

In addition to her parents, Sheila was predeceased by her husband, James J. Kirwin, Jr. in 2020; her brother, Donald J. "Bing" Mulrooney; her sister, Eileen N. Conway; her nephews, Brian H. and Brendan P. Mulrooney and her great-nephew, Kevin G. Conway.

Sheila is survived by her brother, Brian H. Mulrooney and Susan Schofield of Wilmington; her stepson and his spouse, Brian and Stacey Kirwin; her step-grandchildren, Dylan, Kyle and Sean and numerous nieces and nephews

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, Fourth Street and Bancroft Parkway on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at 10:30 AM, where friends may call after 9:30 AM. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 185 Salem Church Road, Newark, DE 19713.
