Age 57, of Hockessin, DE, passed away unexpectedly yet peacefully on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, at home.Born in Baltimore, MD, Scott was the son of Eugene G. Armiger and the late Cynthia Clare (Carroll) Armiger. Scott graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in Finance, earned his MBA at Old Dominion University and then went on to recieve his CFA. He worked as an investment banker for Christiana Bank, a subsidiary of WSFS. Formerly, he was employed by Wilmington Trust Co. Scott was very invested in his community, and actively served on numerous boards and organizations.Scott was a selfless man who always thought of others first. He had a dry, quiet sense of humor, and a strong faith in God and Country. Scott enjoyed playing golf with his good friends, rooting on his children in their various activities, watching college basketball with his sons, and travelling with his beloved wife to visit his two children in college for cherished family time. He looked forward to his parents' annual visits, and loved holidays with extended family. Most of all, Scott was a wonderful husband and father. His children say, "He was the best dad in the world." Scott loved his wife and his kids more than life. He also adored his dog, Mia, humorously referring to her as his favorite child!He will be dearly missed by his wife of 27 years, Lauren (Whittaker) Armiger; his children, Matthew, Catharine "Kaki" and Thomas Armiger. Also surviving is his father, Eugene G. Armiger, his wife Sue, his sister and brother-in-law, Karen A. and David Snell and their daughter Kara.Funeral services will be held on Sunday, March 8th at 4 PM at Hockessin United Methodist Church, 7250 Lancaster Pike, Hockessin where friends and family are invited to visitation after 3 PM. Interment will be private.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Independence School, 1300 Paper Mill Road, Newark, DE 19711 or to St. Mark's High School, 2501 Pike Creek Road, Wilmington, DE 19808.
