Sandra "Sandie" E. Milligan-James

With hearts full of gratitude and sorrow we announce the peaceful passing of Sandra E. Milligan-James (Sandie), 68, of Wilmington, on October 7th, surrounded by her loving family.

Sandie was born on July 15th, 1958 in Wilmington and devoted her life to her family and local animal shelters. She had a passion for fishing and earned life long bragging rights for out fishing her husband 18 to 2. She was known above all for sharing her selfless, fighting spirit with countless abandoned cats through rehabilitation and fostering. She also enjoyed gardening, cooking and any moment to bask in the sun.

Sandie is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Tim James; daughter, Lyndsey Milligan; son, Sean Milligan; stepchildren, Steven and Jesse James; grandchildren, John, Elias, Nevaeh, Paisley, Jacob, and Jesse Jr; brother, David Morrison; sister, Michelle Yglesias; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom she all loved.

A celebration of life for Sandie will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2026, at 11 am, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808. Burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Sandie's name to the Eagles Autism Foundation.
