Obituary

Sally Walsh Dikeman, age 83, passed away on August 22, 2024 surrounded by her loving children. Sally was the wife of the late Ray G. Dikeman and daughter of Michael and Kate Walsh; born in Co. Mayo, Ireland, she came to the United States in 1949, at the age of seven, and lived in Dickson City, Pennsylvania. Sally graduated from St Anthony's and Dickson City High School. She worked in accounting and payroll, first at Morris White Fashions in Scranton, PA and later at DuPont Co. in Wilmington, DE.

In addition to her parents, Sally was preceded in death by her husband Ray, her granddaughter, Olivia Dikeman and great granddaughter, Magnolia Minderlein.

She married Ray in 1965. They were blessed with fifty-seven years of marriage and five children. Sally is survived by her children, Marie Holliday (Al), Ray Jr (Cindy), Kathleen Shuts (Brad), Dr. Erin Turner (Jeff) and Michael Dikeman. They were also blessed with fourteen grandchildren, Dr. Meghan Minderlein (Sean), Kristen Shackle (Jacob), AJ Holliday (Madison), Natalie, Brooke, Colleen Dikeman, Tim, Eric and Sara Shuts, Caitlin, Brynne and Madison Turner, and Sophia Dikeman. They were also blessed with three great grandchildren Jane Minderlein and Beau Shackle.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday August 28th from 10 A.M .to 11 A.M. at St Joseph's on the Brandywine Catholic Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville, DE, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 A.M. Burial will follow at All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Shopping Center, 2nd Floor, Newark, DE 19711.
