Ruth Jane Hopkins, age 88, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Jane was born in Stanton, DE, daughter of the late Florence (McClary) and Ernest Lacey. Jane graduated from Conrad High School and became a Supervisor in the Department of Elections for the State of Delaware until her retirement. Jane's church was very important to her, and she was one of the longest tenured parishioners of Limestone Presbyterian, where she was a deacon and frequently worked in their food pantry. She was an avid dog-lover.  She loved to laugh, found humor in most things, and had a sharp wit of her own. In her free time, Jane enjoyed reading, spending time with her family and friends, and cherished every moment she spent with her grandkids. In addition to her parents, Jane was predeceased by her loving husband, Richard Rodney Hopkins Sr.; and sisters, Betty Lacey, Peggy Robinson, and Helen Downward.

Jane is survived by her sons and their spouses Richard Rodney (Patricia Long-Young) Hopkins Jr.; Scott (Karen) Hopkins, and grandchildren, Tyler, Dakota (Hailey Krinsky), and Madison Hopkins; sister, Ernie (Jonah) Cox; and numerous close family and friends, all of whom Jane loved.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at Limestone Presbyterian, 3201 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 10AM to 11AM, with a service following at 11AM. Burial will be held privately.
