Ronald Francis Lane, 80, of Wilmington, passed away at his home on Tuesday, October 5, 2021 surrounded by his family. Ron was born in Wilmington, the son of the late Virginia (Ray) and Lawrence T. Lane. He graduated from Wilmington High School and worked over 30 years for the Teamsters, Local 326. Ron's real passion was Notre Dame football and he would make a yearly trip to South Bend. In addition to his parents, Ron was predeceased by his brother, Lawrence T. Lane, Jr. and his sister, Carol Ann Mills. Ronald will be dearly missed by his wife of 60 years, Ida L. (Mangini) Lane; his children and their spouses, Shawn and Lori Lane of Bear, Lori Lane of Wilmington, Scott and Joelle Lane of Wilmington and Amy Lane of Elsmere; his 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Ninth and DuPont Streets on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at 11 AM. There will be no viewing. Burial will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to Delaware Hospice, 16 Polly Drummond Center, Newark, DE 19713.
