Roger Dale Vied, 76 of Newark passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Christiana Hospital.

Roger was born in Anjean West Virginia, the son of Hallie Mae (Ramsey) and Sylvester Vied, Jr. He served his country during the Vietnam War in the U.S. Navy. Roger worked in construction for over 20 years for Mumford and Miller. In addition to his parents, Roger was predeceased by his grandson, Joshua David Vied-Lucas.

Roger is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maude B. (Krieger) Vied; his daughters, Rhonda Lucas and her husband Jack, and Kimberly Rivera; his son, Matthew Vied all of Newark; his grandchildren, Tamara, Jackie and Zachary; his great grandson Justin; his siblings Linda Williams, Robert Vied, David Vied, Pamela Olivero, and Michael Vied.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington at 11 AM, where friends may visit after 10 AM. Burial will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.
