Robert Ivan Wright, Sr., age 92 of Hockessin, DE, passed away on May 23, 2024.

Born in Wilmington, DE, he was the son of the late Bertha (Tate) and Carl D. Wright. He graduated from Conrad High School and the University of Delaware, where he was the President of Kappa Alpha, with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. He served his country honorably during the Korean War and went on to work for 30 years for DuPont, as a Purchasing Agent of raw materials. Bob spent many years at Broadkill Beach with his wife, Kay, having owned several rental properties for many years and operated the Broadkill store in the 1980s. Additionally, he enjoyed traveling with his wife during their retirement with their travel group.

Bob was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Catherine "Kay" Wright; his son, Robert I. Wright, Jr; his granddaughter, Melissa Wright; and his brothers, Glenn, Richard, and Carl Wright. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Carl D. and Pam Wright; his grandsons, Carl (Cassandra) Wright, Matthew Wright, Michael Cariello and Toby (Melissa)Tapp; his great grandchildren, Zion, Ezra, and Aniyah; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.

Funeral services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Alzheimer's Association, 108 North Bradford Street Georgetown, DE 19947.
