Obituary

Robert E. Vath, Sr., age 82, of Maris Grove, PA formerly of Glenolden, Pa and Newark, DE, passed away on June 6th, 2026. Born in Philadelphia, PA, Bob was the son of the late Anna C. (Ropars) and Harold Edward Vath. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. Bob spent his career working as a computer analyst for the Franklin Mint, retiring after 35 years of service. He lived with his wife and family for thirty years in Glenolden, PA prior to relocating to Newark, DE for 18 years, and eventually retiring in Maris Grove, in Glenn Mills, PA. While in Delaware, he worked as a bus driver for First Student in Delaware.

In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth Martha Vath; his daughter, Elizabeth Marie Vath; and his brother, James E. Vath. He is survived by his children and their spouses, Marlene and Jeff Weiss, Robinann and Richard Basciano, and Robert E. Jr. and Eileen Vath; seven grandchildren; Lauren, Alexis, Regina, Matthew, Fitz, James and Riley; 2 great grandchildren; Kalten and Skylar; and his sister, Roseanne Cook.

A visitation will be held on Monday June 22nd 2026 from 10 A.M. to 11 A.M, with a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 11 A.M., at the Maris Grove Senior Living Chapel, 200 Maris Grove Way Glen Mills, PA 19342. Burial will be held privately at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Bear, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to The Wounded Warrior Project or the U.S. Veterans.
