Robert F. Traver Sr., age 86, of Bear, DE, passed away on Tuesday, December 6, 2022.

Robert (Bob) was born in Ticonderoga, NY, son of the late Madeline (Matteson) and Lawrence M. Traver. He graduated from high school and received an Associated Degree in Applied Mechanics before proudly serving our nation in the U.S. Army. After returning from the service, he worked as an engineer for DuPont until his retirement after more than 35 years of service. A lifelong boating enthusiast, Bob was a founding member of the Upper Chesapeake Ski Club in Elkton, Maryland and remained active in the club for almost 50 years. In his free time, Robert enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and was an avid reader.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Josie M. Traver; sons and their wives, Robert (Stephanie) Traver, Jr. and Scott (Elizabeth) Traver; six grandchildren; sisters, Kathy Harahus, Elizabeth Rockwell, and Rosalie Bradt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom he all loved.

Services and burial will be held privately.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Robert's name to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
