Robert J. Smith, Jr., 65 of Wilmington passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, September 8, 2022 at his home.

Rob was born in Wilmington, the son of Angeline (Robino) and Robert J. Smith, Sr. He was a graduate of A.I. DuPont High School and attended the University of Delaware. His greatest treasure in life was his daughter, Alexa.

With an entrepreneurial spirit, he was a developer who built many neighborhoods around Delaware. Rob had a love for golf and practicing yoga, in which he found a community and a home. One of his greatest achievements in life was getting his helicopter pilots license.

Rob is survived by his daughter, Alexa Smith and her mother Debbie Smith; his parents, Angie and Robert J. Smith, Sr; his sister and brother-in-law, Bette Lynn and Franklin Huber, his nieces Allison, Ashley, and Paige; and nephews Zachary and Jacob. Rob was predeceased by his brother, David in 2012.

A visitation will be held from 10 AM to 11:30 AM with a Mass to honor Rob beginning at 11:30 AM at St. Joseph on the Brandywine Church, 10 Old Church Road, Greenville on Monday, September 19, 2022. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society in honor of Rob's brother David Smith.
