Robert D. Pugmire, age 88, of Wilmington, DE, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025 at his home surrounded by his family.

Robert was born in Salt Lake City, UT, the son of the late Gayle (Birrell) and Dr. Adrian S. Pugmire. He graduated from the University of Utah, where he served in the ROTC Program. Robert worked as a credit manager for the Hercules Company for over 25 years. During his career, he worked for 2 years in Pakistan in a joint venture with Hercules and Dahwood. He enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Carol (Withers) Pugmire; his daughter, Suzanne; his grandson, Joshua and his infant brother, Richard James.

Robert is survived by his sons, Kevin Reed Pugmire (Patricia Lenhard), Craig Coulson Pugmire (AnneMarie Diiorio) and Mark James Pugmire (Ruthie Pierce) and his grandsons, Steven Paul Pugmire (Angele Pascoli) and Andrew Shane Pugmire.

Services and burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the Helen Graham Center, 4701 Ogletown-Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19713.
