Age 88, of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully at The Summit on Friday, April 13, 2018.Born in Lynn, MA, Robert was the son of the late Wilfred and Mildred (Mason) Gibson. He served in the Navy during the Korean War. Bob obtained his PhD from the State University of NY at Buffalo. He taught marketing research and statistics at Canisius College, The University of Delaware, and Widener. An accomplished pianist, Bob was also the first staff music director of the Unitarian Universalist Society of Mill Creek, a position he enjoyed for almost 12 years. He volunteered for the Seamen's Institute and with his therapy dog Toby for Paws for People. He loved the outdoors, dogs, all things electronic, and traveling.Bob is survived by his wife of 63 years, Jeanette (Clark) Gibson; their sons, Bruce, Brian, Barry, and Brooks; and his grandchildren, Jacob Foster, Ariel and Nathan Moore, and Ezekiel Gibson.A memorial service will be celebrated at The Unitarian Universalist Society of Mill Creek, 579 Polly Drummond Hill Rd, Newark, DE 19711 on Saturday, April 28, at 5:00 pm.
