Robert Grant Branum, age 72, of Newark, DE, passed away on July 26th, 2023, at Christiana Hospital after a short illness.

Robert was born in Charleston, WV, to the late Howard and Inez Branum. Robert served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. After his military service, he worked as a Highway Engineer in the Department of Transportation for the State of Delaware for 30 years. He also owned and operated Branum's Roofing & Siding Co. for nearly two decades. Robert had a huge heart, he loved his family, he enjoyed traveling and loved animals, especially cats.

In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his wife Rita (Volpe); brothers Russell, John, Michael; and sister Wanda Carr.

He is survived by his brother Howard "Mickey" and Barbara Branum; his sister Linda Henderson; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Funeral services will be private. He will be interred with his wife at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
