Rita A. Delle Donne, age 89, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully on May 3, 2025.

Born in Wilmington, she was the daughter of the late Josephine (DiMenco) and Frank Calvarese. Rita graduated from Wilmington High School and was a dedicated homemaker for her husband and children. Rita and her husband, Ernie, were longtime parishioners of St. Anthony of Padua Church.

Rita was predeceased by her husband of 62 years, Ernest "Ernie" Delle Donne; her siblings, Helen Delle Donne, Elsie DiSabatino, and Ann Remedio and her son-in-law, Dr. James Ganey.

She is survived by her children and their spouses, Paul F. and Deborah Delle Donne and Mary Jo Ganey; her grandchildren, Dr. Nowell James Ganey, Dr. Christopher Bellamy Ganey, Rachael Honeycutt (Patrick), Aimee Delle Donne (Michael Horn), and Nicholas Delle Donne (Samantha); and her great grandchildren, Christopher, Isla, Colton and Dylan; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A visitation will be held on Friday May 9th from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 901 N. DuPont Street, Wilmington, DE 19805. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. Interment will follow at Cathedral Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, 100 W. 10th Street #1103, Wilmington, DE 19801 or to St. Anthony of Padua Church, at the above address.
