Richard L. Wagner, age 90, of West Grove, PA, formerly of Hockessin, DE, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, October 9, 2024.

Richard was born in Manitowoc, WI, son of the late Marie (Lorenz) and Henry Wagner. Richard graduated from the University of Wisconsin, Madison with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Chemistry. Richard then moved his family to Delaware to take a position as Chemist at Hercules Inc. and worked his way up the ranks before retiring as Director of Venture Licensing and Development. Richard proudly served our nation in the U.S Airforce and was a longtime parishioner of Concordia Lutheran Church in Wilmington, DE. In his free time, Richard loved traveling, golfing, and spending time with his friends and family. In addition to his parents, Richard was also predeceased by his son, Eric Wagner; brother, Henry Wagner; and sisters, Elaine, Emma, and Marjorie.

Richard is survived by his life partner Joan Dey; daughters, Mary Aiken and spouse, Craig of Kennett Square, PA, and Jane Weckerle and spouse, Joe of Malvern, PA; sons Dan Wagner and spouse, Fran of Honeybrook, PA, and Mark Wagner of Wilmington, DE; grandchildren, Victoria, Dylan, Danielle, Alexandra, Bryan, Joe, and Sara; and nieces and nephews, Dave Wagner and spouse, Judy of Crivitz, WI, Susan Hester and spouse, Rick of Pensacola, FL, Dale Wagner of Manitowoc, WI, and Gary Welsch of Athelstane, WI.

A visitation for Richard will be held on Thursday, October 17, 2024, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, where friends and family may call from 11-11:30am, with a memorial service following at 11:30am. Burial will be held privately.
