Richard Szczepkowski was a caring father, son, brother, uncle, and friend. He passed away on April 20, 2023 in his home after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 61.

He was born in Delaware to Francis and Veronica Szczepkowski on April 26, 1961. After graduating from Delcastle High School, he pursued a career in heating and air conditioning. He carried his skills into his free time, often helping friends and neighbors repair anything from lawnmowers to motorcycles. His can-do attitude earned him the nickname "Mr. Fix-It" from his father.

Richard also enjoyed crabbing, waterfowl hunting, and trapshooting with his father and friends. He made his own decoys, which are still in use today. He had his last hunt with his lifelong best friend, Fran, just months before passing away.

Richard was preceded in death by his daughter, Chelsea, and mother, Veronica. He is survived by his son, Hunter; father, Francis; sister, Judy; and niece, Samantha.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Shaw's office and Rich's nursing team - Sam, Dawn, Christine, and Ashley.

Per Richard's request, services will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Delaware Hospice.
