Richard H. Schnaars, age 80, of Newark, DE passed away on December 11, 2023. Born in Brooklyn, NY he was the son of the late Sarah (Larson) and Henry Schnaars. He graduated with his bachelor's and master's degree in physical education from West Chester University in Pennsylvania. Dick worked as a teacher for some time before going on to teach and coach gymnastics at the gym he founded with his wife, Schnaars Gymnastics Center.

Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Marilyn Schnaars; his brother and sister-in-law, Peter and Maggie Schnaars; and his brother-in-law, Gilbert Teleford.

A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring at Ebenezer United Methodist Church, Newark, DE.
