Raymond Lewis Worrell II, age 74, long time resident of Tabernacle, NJ, passed away at Christiana Hospital in Delaware on Saturday, March 19, 2016. Born in Mt. Holly, NJ, Ray was the son of the late Raymond and Beatrice Worrell. He is survived by his four children, Raymond Worrell III (Catherine) of Fort Collins, CO, Brenda Worrell of Bloomfield, NJ, Joseph Worrell of Las Vegas, NV and Andrea Gempp (Steve), of Avondale, PA. He was a grandfather to eight grandchildren and two great grandsons. He is also survived by two siblings George Worrell and Eileen Haines as well as an aunt, Betty Orme, all of Tabernacle. Ray graduated from Rancocas Valley Regional High School and went on to earn a BS in Science from Drexel University. For over 50 years, he worked for the same engineering company, Lord, Worrell & Richter, as a land surveyor, civil engineer and eventually president. Over the years, he served as township engineer for many surrounding townships. He served as a member and President of the Tabernacle School Board, member of the Pinelands Rotary Club, and involved with the Rotary Interact Club for Shawnee students. He was also a lifelong member of the Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Ray was an avid sports fan, always rooting for his beloved Phillies and Eagles, a loyal fan at Shawnee basketball games and one of the most dedicated fans at his grandchildren's sporting events. Friends and family are invited to visitation on Friday, April 1st between 6 and 8 PM and Saturday morning at 10 AM at Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 166 Carranza Road, Tabernacle, NJ 08088 where funeral services will begin at 11 AM.
