Raymond James DellaVecchia, "Ray", age 59, passed away peacefully on January 7th, 2024. Born in Wilmington, he was the son of Alice (O'Brien) and the late Charles DellaVecchia. He graduated from Salesianum High School and attended the University of Delaware. Ray went on to work for over 30 years as an maintenance supervisor for Exelon Nuclear, formerly Peco. He loved the ocean, crabbing, and enjoyed spending time at Bethany Beach with his family. Ray enjoyed playing ice hockey and coached all three of his sons. He will be dearly missed by those closest to him.

Ray was predeceased by his father, Charles M. DellaVecchia; he is survived by his sons, Zachary DellaVecchia, Alec DellaVecchia, and Jacob DellaVecchia, and their mother, Georgette DellaVecchia; his siblings, Michael DellaVecchia, Sharon Lenzi, Margaret Barbine (Rick Cichocki), Dennis DellaVecchia (Denise), and Regina Kealty (Michael); his nephew that he was particularly close with, Joseph Barbine; his beloved Doberman, Ryker; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 14th from 4 P.M. to 6 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. Funeral services will be held the following morning at 10:30 A.M. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Purple Heart, P.O.
