Ray Gene Dikeman Sr. passed away on August 8, 2022 surrounded by his loving family.  Ray was born on October 7, 1940 in Blakely, PA.  He was the third son of Kenneth and Octavia (Owens) Dikeman.  He graduated from Blakely High School in 1958.  Shortly thereafter he joined the Navy and proudly served on the USS Ranger until March of 1962.  He moved to Wilmington, Delaware in late 1962 for a job opportunity at DuPont and remained employed there for almost 40 years.

The pride and joy of his life was his family.  He married his beloved wife, Sally, in May of 1965 and enjoyed 57 years of marriage with her.  He raised 5 children with his wife, and could always be counted on to play sports or games with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife Sally, his five children, Marie Holliday (Al), Ray Dikeman Jr (Cindy), Kathy Shuts (Brad), Erin Turner (Jeff), Michael, and his brothers Richard and Kenneth.

He is also survived by his grandchildren Meghan, Kristen, AJ, Timothy, Caitlin, Eric, Brynne, Natalie, Brooke, Sara, Madison, Colleen, Olivia and Sophia as well as his great grandchild Jane.  They will miss the funny stories of his youth.

Burial will be private.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Diamond Blackfan Anemia Foundation (dbafoundation.org) in honor of his granddaughters.
