Ralph Browning Poole, age 84, passed away on Thursday, January 1, 2026.

Ralph was born in Wilmington, son of the late Virginia Irene (Wheatley) and Ralph Browning Poole Sr. Ralph, graduated from Dickinson High School and went on to work at General Motors for over 31 years until his retirement. He proudly served in the Army National Guard. Ralph loved sailing, Martial Arts (Tai Chi), playing pool, reading, football (Eagles!), and spending time with his family and friends. He was previously a member of the Power Squadron of Wilmington and was a Ham Radio Operator. Ralph was an avid learner, always pursuing new and fulfilling hobbies.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Charlotte N. Poole; son and his wife, Brian (Velvet) Poole; daughter and her husband, Kathleen "Kathy" (Eric C.) Blakey grandchildren, Kristina Guy, Elise Ramos, and Sarina Fritts; great grandchildren, Kylie Guy, Aiden Guy, Rebecca Guy, Julian Ramos, and Malachi Burnett; great great granddaughter, Melanie Elliots-Hall; sister, Bonnie Johnson: and numerous nieces and nephews.

A visitation for Ralph will be held on Friday, January 9, 2026, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808, family at 11am and friends beginning at 11:30, with funeral services beginning at 12pm. Burial will follow at Gracelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Ralph's name to Heart Research.
