Peter J. Antonelli, age 95, of Wilmington, DE passed away at Cadia Pike Creek on Saturday, April 22, 2023, where he had been for a short time in rehabilitation.

Peter was born in a house in the little Italy section of Wilmington, DE. He was and altar boy for Fr. Francis Tucker and he had a lifelong love for the Catholic religion. He was generous with his time, and installed tile for Fr. Roberto Baldacelli at St. Anthony of Padua for years.

Peter attended Brown Vocational and had an apprenticeship with Pete George Tile Company in Wilmington, DE. After learning to be a Master tiler, he started Delaware Tile Company. Peter did many homes, mostly anything constructed by Robino Builders, in Delaware. Peter was a kind, loving man who never complained or talked unkindly about anyone. We need more souls on earth like Peter, his passing is a loss to society itself. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.

Peter married Frances Corrozi in 1951, and together they were the true example of a team and a marriage that they could be proud of.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Frances; the daughter he adored, Janet Merendino, and his son-in-law who he called his son, Russell Merendino; and his only grandchild, Michael Peter Merendino.

The family would like to thank Rita Rizzo, Sherrie Farren, Sylvia Joswick, Lucy Mealey, Andrew Coleman and our dear cousin, Francine Filliben for the care, love and support they gave Peter in the last years of his life.
