Pauline M. Haney, 93 of Wilmington passed away peacefully on Friday, July 1, 2016 at Kentmere Nursing Home surrounded by her family.Pauline was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Cassie (Byrne) and Michael Mahoney. She graduated from Wilmington High School and Goldey Beacom College. She worked for 47 years for the DuPont Company, lastly as the secretary to the Plant Manager in Newport. Pauline was a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church, the BVM Sodality, and the Irish Culture Club of Delaware. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, George F. Haney in 1968, and her brothers, George and Charles Mahoney.Pauline is survived by her sons and their wives, David and Helen Haney, and Chuck and Janice Haney, all of Wilmington; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer and Jeff Thomas, Allison and Dennis Leizear, Megan and Steven Yash, Matthew and Lissy Haney, and Shea and Devin Canup; her great-grandchildren, Alex and Nate Thomas, Andrew Yash, and Addilyn Canup. She is also survived by her brother, Paul Mahoney and his wife Jane, and a niece and a nephew.Pauline's family would like to extend special thanks to the staff of Kentmere Nursing Home for the excellent care they provided to her for the past 3 years.Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, July 8, 2016 at St. Ann's Church, Gilpin Avenue and Union Street at 10:00 a.m. Friends may call at the MEALEY FUNERAL HOME, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Entombment will be in Cathedral Cemetery, Wilmington.
