Paula M. Schmid, age 79, of Wilmington, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 17, 2022.

Paula was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Edna M. (Brooks) and Frederick Schmid Jr. Paula graduated from high school and went on to become a child support specialist for the State of Delaware for over 44 years. In her free time, Paula loved to go thrift shopping and spend as much time as possible with her family. In addition to her parents, Paula was predeceased by her brother, Otto William "Bill" Schmid; and sisters, Helena Paolino and Edna V. (Rhoni) Pyne.

Paula is survived by her son, Christopher Schmid; two grandchildren; brother, Frederick N. Schmid IV and his wife, Sharon; sister-in-law, Ellen Schmid; and numerous nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom she all loved.

A visitation for Paula will take place on Friday, October 28, 2022, at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Rd, Wilmington, DE 19808 where friends and family may call from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM with a service following at 12:30 PM. Burial will follow at Lombardy Cemetery, Wilmington DE.
