Obituary

Paul F. Zaborowski, age 73, of Wilmington, DE passed away peacefully in the presence of family on June 9, 2023.

A lifelong resident of Wilmington, Paul was the son of the late Bertha Bernadette (Embras) and Edward Joseph Zaborowski. He graduated from H. Fletcher Brown Vocational High School and worked as a printer at Diamond Printing in Wilmington. Paul was a patriot and served his country proudly in the United States Army, stationed in Germany, during the Vietnam War.

Paul was a well-known, and well-loved figure in the Stanton community where he was sometimes called the "mayor" of Stanton and, in some circles, fondly, the "pope".  He made friends everywhere he went.  Paul was a member of the Moose Lodge 630 and a lifetime member of the VFW.  He belonged to several Senior Centers in the area and enjoyed their day trips accompanied by his good friend, Joe.  Paul and Joe often went on vacation trips through Anne's Travels.  Paul enjoyed bowling and was a member of the B&B Mixed Bowling League at Pleasant Hill Lanes. He enjoyed celebrating the holidays with family and friends.

Paul is preceded in death by two brothers - Edward Joseph Zaborowski, Jr. and Lawrence Zaborowski.  He is survived by his twin sister Pauline Dempsey and husband William Dempsey of New Castle, DE and sister Loretta Butler of Yonges Island, SC.  He leaves behind 5 nieces and 3 nephews; and 12 great nieces and great nephews.
