Paul Russell Turner Sr., age 87, of Hartly, DE passed away peacefully on Monday, February 23, 2026.

Paul was born in Wilmington, son of the late Ada (Pollitt) and Edward Turner. Paul graduated from William Penn High School and went on to serve our nation honorably in the U.S. Coast Guard. After returning home from the service, Paul went on to become a Chemical Operator for Diamond Shamrock until his retirement. In his free time, Paul enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and reading. Paul also enjoyed and cherished his memories of traveling with his wife Ellen in their younger years. Family meant a lot to Paul, and he enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Paul was predeceased by his brothers, Charles, Bill, Richard, and Norris Turner; and sister, Dot Andrews.

Paul is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ellen Turner; sons, Jonathan E. and Paul Russell Turner Jr.; daughters, Allison Turner, Laura Cox, and Valerie Turner; grandchildren, Brandon, Kate, Colleen, Jonathan, Gabrielle, Chris, Cody, Cameron and Ella; and numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and close family friends whom he all loved.

Funeral services for Paul will be held privately.
