Paul F. Smith passed away on April 9, 2022 after a short battle with cancer. He was 75.

Although Paul was born in Wilmington, he grew up in Smyrna. Following his graduation from Smyrna High School, Paul enlisted in the Army Reserve where he continued to serve his country while attending Wesley College and High Point College. He was awarded associate and baccalaureate degrees in Business Administration from both of those institutions. Paul had a lifelong passion for cars and after his retirement was able to hone his woodworking skills turning out many fine pieces of furniture.

Paul was preceded in death by his parents, Marie and Paul Smith . He is survived by his son, Curtis (Shawn) and his brothers Steve (Donna) and Greg (Denise). Paul is also survived by his faithful friend and confidant, Beckey.

At the family's request, funeral services will be private.
