Ed Hassett, age 56, of Wilmington, DE, passed away on December 8, 2025.

Born in Yeadon, PA on December 18, 1968, he was a son of Mary Ellen (Atkinson) Hassett and the late Paul Hassett.  Ed was passionate about the Eagles, Flyers, and Phillies.  He loved dogs, especially his Caroline (aka Sharky).  Ed was an accomplished self-taught guitarist and frequently played songs from his favorite band, Clutch.  Ed loved Seinfeld and would challenge anyone to a Seinfeld trivia contest.  Ed loved spending time with his great friends - Dave, Jerry, Matt, and Mike - solving the problems of the world.

Ed was a double transplant recipient from 23 years ago, so please consider organ donations to give the gift of life to someone in need.

Ed is preceded in death by his father, Paul Hassett, and brother, Joseph Hassett.  He is survived by his mother, Mary E. Hassett; sister Tracy Naughton (James); nephews Wade, Brett, and Mack Naughton, and brother-in-law John Dowell.

A visitation for family and friends will be held from 10 A.M to 11 A.M. on Monday, December 22, 2025, at Mealey Funeral home, 2509 Limestone Road, Wilmington, DE 19808 where a memorial service will begin at 11 A.M.  Inurnment will follow in All Saints Cemetery, 6001 Kirkwood Highway, Wilmington, Delaware.
