Patricia C. Shumaker, age 88, of Wilmington, DE passed away at home on April 17, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

Patricia was born in Towanda, PA to Mr. and Mrs. A. B. Cox. She graduated from St. Agnes High School in Towanda, and worked as a clerk in the local court house. After moving to Delaware, she worked for Delmarva Power & Light. She married Robert M. Shumaker in 1960, and together they shared sixty years of marriage.

Patricia was predeceased by her husband, Robert; their son, Robert M. Shumaker Jr.; her sister, Mary Naczi, and her brother, Thomas Cox. She is survived by her daughter, Lorie (Jim) Issel; son, Scott (Donna) Shumaker; grandchildren, Elaina Strong, Elizabeth Issel, Kathleen Shumaker-McLaughlin (Shane), Laura Shumaker Gondi (Medhav), Joseph Issel (Megan), Elyssa Issel, Garrett Issel, Helen Shumaker, Matthew Shumaker, Sydney Shumaker, Christopher Shumaker, Connor Shumaker, Sophia Shumaker; great-grandchildren, Eva Strong, Emelia Strong, Ellyana Strong, Tarlach McLaughlin, Bláthnaid McLaughlin and Travis Smothers; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.

A viewing will be held on Sunday April 23rd from 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. at the Mealey Funeral Home, 2509 Limestone Road Wilmington, DE 19808. A Requiem Mass will be held on Monday April 24th at 11 A.M. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 1414 King Street Wilmington, DE. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to St. Patrick's Catholic Church, at the address above, where Patricia and Robert were long-time parishioners.
