Olive A. T. King, age 89, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2025, at her home in Newark, Delaware surrounded by her loving family.

Olive was born in Wilmington, the daughter of the late Olive C. Thornton (DuRoss) and William J. Thornton. She graduated from Brown Vocational Technical High School in 1953. Olive is survived by her children and their spouses, Tyler and Sheila King of Wilmington and Colette and Glenn Matsanka of Newark and her grandchildren, Alex Straube (Clarke) and Ben King (Angelina) and A.J. Matsanka (Jackie) and Melissa "Missy" Burdette (Nick) and her great-granddaughter, Margot Straube. Her family meant the world to Olive. In her free time Olive enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, country line dancing, and watching movies and old TV shows.

The family wishes to express their extreme gratitude to Olive's recent caretakers: Gwen, Margy, Cindy, Regina, Cecilia and Sarah for their kindness and exceptional care for Olive during the past three years. The family also wishes to express heartfelt appreciation to all the members of Delaware Hospice, especially Erica, Deica and Maya for their compassionate care and guidance over the last 16 months.
