Morton H.
Farrell, Jr.
July 11, 1954 — January 23, 2022
Morton H. Farrell, Jr. "Morty", 67, of Dover, passed away on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at Bayhealth Kent General Hospital.
Morty was born in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of the late Morton H. Farrell, Sr. and Rhoda Hilbert. Morty attended Garnet Valley High School. He was a lifelong painter, jack of all trades, and recently worked for Hufford Construction in Smyrna. Morty was predeceased by his wife, Leona (Nucito) Farrell in 2019 and his daughter, Stephanie Joan Farrell in 2021.
Morty was an avid fan of Delaware Park horse racing ("Go 9!") and his greatest joy spending time with his grandchildren.
Morty was an amazing father grandfather and friend. He often went above and beyond for the people he cared about. He loved to tell wild stories from his youth that would have you laughing for hours. He enjoyed driving around pointing out all the different houses and businesses he painted throughout Delaware. He touched so many lives with his gift of gab. He will be truly missed.
Morty is survived by his daughters, Heather H. Farrell of Wilmington, Kimberly Wood of Wilmington, and Jaimie Lopez of New Castle; his son, Jeff Nucito-Farrell; his grandchildren, Mikayla, Dane, Riley, Karmella, Maleigha, Jordyn, Kristina, and John; his sister, Stephanie; and his brother, Thomas.
